It looks like quite mysteriously that people around the legislature are taking the issue of medical marijuana quite seriously.
While none of us are really surprised the Assembly passed a medical marijuana bill, the Senate seems quite likely to pass their own bill, and they are open to discussions. So it seems very likely that it might get done this session.
That's good for all the sick people who seem to think that they'd be better off smoking marijuana to ease their pain. Other states have tried it, and those who can ease their pain through it seem a lot happier.
It looks like in the 39th County Legislature District, the great Sandy Gordon with his beef cattle is going to have a race. It's a vast district—stretching from Cooksberg in Renselearville to Knox, but traditionally fairly Democratic—despite all though pickup trucks with gun racks.
Why would anybody want to run against Sandy? He's legendary. But it looks like the Town Supervisor in Berne wants to make a nice monday evening drive to the city, to be a county legislator.
